This policy explains what CardBounty collects, how we use it, and your choices.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: your handle, email address, and a hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.
- Content you create: bounties, responses, messages, and ratings.
- Usage and device data: log data such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed, used to operate and secure the Service.
- Cookies: a session cookie to keep you logged in and to protect against cross-site request forgery.
2. How we use information
To operate the marketplace (match bounties with sellers, deliver messages, show reputation), to maintain security and prevent abuse, to communicate with you about your account, and to improve the Service.
3. How information is shared
- With other users: your handle, your bounties and responses, your messages to a counterparty, and your reputation are visible as needed to make deals work.
- Service providers: vendors who host or support the Service, under confidentiality obligations.
- Legal: when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Cookies and sessions
We use a first-party session cookie required for login and security. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
5. Data retention
We keep account and content data while your account is active and as needed to operate the Service or meet legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account.
6. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your choices
You can review and update your account information, and you can request access to or deletion of your data by contacting us.
8. Children
CardBounty is not directed to children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date.
